Timber company gets $7 billion to help build Chicago’s new skyscraper

WASHINGTON — — — With a new $7.4 billion stimulus package in the works, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel on Tuesday unveiled a $7,600,000 investment in the city’s new $800 million luxury apartment tower, known as Timber Hawk.

The building will be completed in just four years, he said.

Emanuel said the city also is investing in a new office tower in downtown Chicago.
